Lily takes longer to wake up compared to the others. “Five more minutes,” Kevin wills say in the ferret voice-over voice he has for Lily. She will ask to be picked up to get scritches, and she will stretch and yawn… and then suddenly leap to the ground and start dooking and playing. She seems to only have two speeds.  In this video, she was in her waking-up mode. When she suddenly looked up in interest at the end is when I asked, “Do you want coffee?” In the morning, I will say that it’s time to get coffee, which means I am opening the ferret barrier to go downstairs, which is full of (ferret-safe) adventure. “Time for coffee” means time for downstair play time.

Brigid and Sophie playing in the “fireplace room.” This room has a fireplace that we don’t use. You can see the tops of the glass doors for the fireplace behind the blue cushion. The plan is to fill/insulate it in the future. This room has a low table where I sit cross-legged in the morning to drink tea and eat breakfast. There are also fiber arts and toddler arts supplies in this room, among other things.

When I say it’s time to make coffee, the ferrets run to the barrier – a ferret version of a baby gate – and they start dooking, ready to go downstairs. As you can see at the very end of this clip, Brigid has figured out how to zoom down the stairs as quickly as the twins.

Speaking of coffee, I’m regretting not bringing more of this back from Scotland. It’s so good, but my past self decided that I couldn’t return with a suitcase full of coffee beans. My current self is questioning this decision.
